Magnagaea is a specialty coffee company that grows, processes, roasts, and curates its own single origin coffees from Costa Rica village in Ginebra, Valle del Cauca, Colombia. We follow a true seed-to-cup philosophy.

What does “specialty coffee” mean?

Coffee graded 80+ on the Specialty Coffee Association’s 100-point scale. It represents exceptional quality, traceability, and sustainability.

Where do your coffees come from?

From our farm in Costa Rica, Ginebra, Valle del Cauca, Colombia.

Is your coffee from Costa Rica the country?

No — it’s from a village in Colombia with the same name.

What is single-origin coffee?

Coffee from a single farm or region, showcasing local flavor.

What makes Valle del Cauca coffee unique?

Volcanic soil, high altitude (1,600–1,900 masl), and tropical climate deliver vibrant acidity and depth.

How are your coffees roasted?

Small-batch, light to medium, to highlight sweetness and terroir.

What roast levels do you offer?

Only light to medium — to preserve origin character.

How fresh is your coffee?

Roasted weekly. Shipped within 48h. Roast date on the bag.

How should I store coffee?

Airtight container, room temp, away from light/moisture.

How should I brew your coffee?

Best: pour-over, French press, or espresso.

What grind size should I choose?

Choose based on your brew method. We offer ground or whole bean.

What processing methods do you use?

Washed (clean), Honey (sweet), Natural (fruity), Experimental (anaerobic, carbonic maceration, special yeasts).

Which process should I try?

Natural = wild & fruity

Which process yields the sweetest coffee?

Natural and honey — because of fruit/mucilage fermentation.

Which process is best for espresso?

Natural or honey — richer body and sweetness.

Are experimental processes safe?

No. Quality also depends on variety, terroir, and harvest.

Is your coffee ethically sourced?

Yes — we grow it ourselves with sustainable practices.

Not certified, but it’s shade-grown and chemical-free.

Unopened returns accepted within 7 days. No returns on opened bags.
